VILLAGE CLERK

The Village of Roscoe is currently accepting applications for the vacant position of Village Clerk. The Village President shall appoint a qualified person to serve as the Village Clerk for the remainder of a two year term until the lawful election of a Clerk in the next regular municipal election. Any eligible village resident who may be interested in serving as Village Clerk should send a letter of interest and resume to Anne Hanson, Compensation & Benefits Specialist at the Village of Roscoe, P.O. Letters of interest must be received no later than May 31st, interviews, if required, will be scheduled for June 1st and 2nd, with an expected confirmation date of June 6th 2017.

The position requires attendance at all meetings of the Village Board, currently scheduled for 6:30pm on the first and third Tuesday of each month. PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT 

Two (2) part-time summer help positions are available.

JANITORIAL SERVICES - Part Time

The Village of Roscoe is seeking a part-time employee to work 15 hours per week cleaning the Roscoe municipal facilities. The hours are flexible but work will be conducted primarily when the facilities are closed. Starting wage will be established between $13.00 and $15.00 per hour.

VILLAGE COMMISSIONS/ADVISORY BOARDS

The Village of Roscoe is currently seeking applications from Village residents interested in serving the community as appointed members of one of the Village’s Commissions or Advisory Boards.  

Residents are encouraged to volunteer to serve on one of the various boards or commissions that play an important role in the functioning of our local government, and provide recommendations and advice on Village issues to the Village President and Board of Trustees.

QUALIFICATIONS AND APPOINTMENT

Each commission or board consists of members appointed by the Village President and confirmed by the Board of Trustees with a term generally lasting two to four years.  All members serve without compensation, on a volunteer basis.

We seek individuals who are highly motivated with a willingness to learn and act in the best interest of the entire community.  If appointed, members are expected to diligently attend and participate in all meetings of the board or commission.  Most boards and commissions meet regularly once a month in the evenings, though on occasion, members may be requested to attend one of the regular meetings of the Village’s Board of Trustees. 

No special qualifications are required for appointment to the Board, however, applicants should have a strong desire to serve their community, and an interest in the subject matter of the particular board on which they would like to serve. Specific boards include the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Board of Police Commissioners, and the various ad hoc citizen advisory committees which are formed from time to time to provide input and advice on a particular topic. 

Those who wish to be considered for an appointment to one of the boards or commissions are asked to submit a letter of interest that will specifically include their full name, residential address, and brief statement setting forth the reasons that they are interested in serving the Village and any special qualifications or skills that they may have which would assist them in their service to the Village.
